Privacy notice

This notice explains what happens to the information you send through the enquiry form or by email, in plain English.

Last updated: November 2025

Who is responsible for your information

Sean Reddaway is the data controller for personal information collected through training.seanreddaway.com. That means the decisions about why and how your information is used are made here.

Contact details for privacy questions are published on the contact page.

What information is collected

When you send an enquiry, the following is collected:

  • your name and the organisation you are enquiring on behalf of;
  • your email address and, if you provide it, a telephone number;
  • the details you choose to give about the training or coaching you are considering — organisation type, approximate group size, area of interest, preferred format, timing and location;
  • the message you write;
  • a one-way technical fingerprint derived from your network address, used only to limit repeated automated submissions. The address itself is not stored in a readable form.

Please do not include confidential employee, health, safeguarding, criminal-case or beneficiary information in an initial enquiry. Sensitive context can be discussed later through an appropriate channel. Special category data is not deliberately collected through this website.

Why it is used, and the lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work. Lawful basis: legitimate interests — responding to someone who has asked to be contacted about a service. Where you are acting as an individual and steps towards an agreement are being taken, the basis is the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request.
  • To keep records of agreed work. Lawful basis: legal obligation, for tax and accounting records, and legitimate interests in keeping an accurate record of what was agreed.
  • To keep the website and enquiry form secure. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in preventing abuse and automated spam.

No marketing list operates from this site. Enquiry details are not used to send unrelated promotional messages.

Who your information is shared with

Your information is not sold, and it is not shared for anyone else's marketing. It is handled by a small number of service providers acting on documented instructions:

  • Website hosting and application platform (Lovable / Cloudflare)
  • Managed database and form processing (Lovable Cloud, EU-hosted)
  • Transactional email delivery (Lovable Emails)

Information may also be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so, or to obtain professional advice.

Where your information is held

Information is held on infrastructure within the UK or the European Economic Area. If that changes, this notice will be updated and appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, will be put in place.

How long it is kept

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for 24 months and then deleted.
  • Records relating to agreed work are kept for 7 years from the end of the relevant financial year, because tax and accounting rules require it.
  • Spam-prevention records are kept only briefly and then removed automatically.

Automated decision-making

No decisions about you are made by automated means, and no profiling takes place. Automated checks are used only to filter obvious spam, and a rejected submission can always be sent again by email.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information held about you;
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
  • ask for information to be deleted, in certain circumstances;
  • ask for the use of your information to be restricted;
  • object to use of your information that relies on legitimate interests;
  • ask for your information in a portable format, where processing relies on consent or a contract and is automated;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis being relied on. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything done before.

To exercise any of these rights, use the details on the contact page. A response is normally provided within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please raise it directly first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
